College musings (+ TONS of pics)

I took the best nap ever last night... I laid down on the couch around 10:00, intending to sleep for maybe 30 minutes and then get up to do some more laundry. Didn't wake up until 6:00 this morning. That was the first time in a LONG time that I've slept for eight hours straight without being disturbed. I felt so rested when I got up this morning. Maybe I should try this normal-sleeping thing more often?

Anyhoo, it's almost August which means everyone is getting all excited to move back to school. I know I am, at least! I could say "I love college," but that really doesn't do my feelings justice. USI is my home away from home; it's where my second family resides. Just thinking about moving back to Evansville and being with some of my favorite people in the world gets me all giddy inside. Like now. I'm smiling just typing this. :) I can't wait to see everyone again!

One month from today, classes start at USI. Meaning in one month, I will be moved into my new apartment with Kari, Amy, and Allison. Living in the same building as most of my amazing neighbors from last year. Settling back into the old routine of watching old Disney movies, Steak n Shake runs, silly pranks, all-nighters, and roomie cuddle time/sing-a-longs (that last one's my favorite). I know this year is going to be just as amazing as last... if not, even better. The only sucky part is the fact that one of my best friends, Kyle, is being lame and not coming back to USI. I'm expecting him to compensate by visiting us often, though.

I'm not sure exactly which day I'm moving in yet. It was going to be the 27th, but Amy texted me yesterday about volunteering on the freshman move-in crew on the 25th, so I may do that. It depends on whether or not I'd be able to move into the apartment early, though. I don't want to get down there on the 25th and find out I can't get my key until the 27th. So we'll see. I would LOVE to do the volunteering deal because it would get me down there sooner... I would get to see Amy two days earlier than expected, which would just make me the happiest girl in the world.

And now, a visual representation of my freshman year of college, a.k.a. the best school year ever...

1st semester roomies: 308 with Lauren, Stace, and Steph

2nd semester roomies: 101 with Amy, Kari, and Ashley (not pictured)

Kari's birthday surprise ;)
That's Amy in the bin we stole from the MPR with Kari, Kyle, and Hannah's back in the background

Duct-taping the boys' door shut. Took them forever to get it open!

Going out to Tequila's for dinner

First big snow of the school year!

Snow days in college are the best :)

Amy's birthday dinner at Roadhouse

My umbrella exploded, so we creatively turned it into our newest roommate: Lafawnduh

Meeting Steve Byrne and getting him to sign our macaroni = EPIC

Good/creepy/random times on ChatRoulette with Kyle

Free carnival rides at SpringFest with Dylan, Amy, and Zech

There was always stuff in the fountain. This time it was bubbles and cherry Kool-Aid :)

Missa's birthday dinner

Laying out became a daily requirement once the temps heated up again

As much as she tries to deny it... Kari REALLY loves my Snuggie

One of our last pictures together... finals week, shortly before moving out

Packing up for the summer :(
