I signed up for Fall classes last week. Got into everything I need... score! I'm so excited about all of the classes I'm taking since I changed my major. Three English classes, two Spanish classes, aaand an Intro Physics class. That last one is my final University Core requirement. Hallelujah! As much as I hate science, I'm actually kind of not hating this one. The professor seems really cool, and Kyle and I got into that class together. So how painful can it be?
Kyle came down this past weekend and we got him all moved into his new apartment! He still has to finish up the semester at Ivy Tech so he was only here until Sunday evening, but it was a fun weekend. I finally got to meet Kyle's new puppy, Kobe, who will be living with him next year. I also got to see his parents again and meet more of his family on Saturday morning, when they came down with a horse trailer full of furniture for the apartment.
Hannah graduated from Roger's Academy of Hair Design on Friday. She's come so far in the past year and a half... Started off in fall of 2009 as a freshman at USI studying elementary education, and now she's a certified hair stylist, all done with school, who is getting MARRIED in two months. That is crazy! But I am so very proud of her. And super excited for her and Ryan's new life as a married couple.
Our little "family" - Ryan, Hannah, me, Kyle. We weren't quite ready for this one.
All of us with Amber
On Saturday, after Kyle's family left, I headed over to the East side for Hannah's first bridal shower. Eeeek! Her friend Mendy hosted it and she did a GREAT job! Mendy's family lives in a gorgeous house that looks like something straight out of a Lilly Pulitzer catalog. Everything was so elegant and cute.
While we're on the subject, I have to tell you about my favorite moment from the bridal shower. Mendy had Ryan come over early last week and recorded him answering some questions about Hannah, their relationship, etc. At the shower, we played a game where Mendy asked us the question and we wrote down what we thought the answer would be, and whether or not Hannah's and Ryan's answers would match. Hannah would then answer the question, and finally Mendy played the video clip of Ryan's response.
One of the questions was, "What color are Hannah's eyes?" We all wrote down our answers and then Hannah answered: "They're rainbow striped! Navy blue, and then light blue, and then green, and then brown, and then the black pupil." Everybody protested, telling her to give a simpler answer and just say "hazel." So then Mendy played the video clip of Ryan's answer. You know what he said? "They're kinda striped. There's navy blue, then light blue, then green, then brown. And then the pupil."
How cute is that?! They definitely know each other too well. (Just for the record, nearly ALL of their answers matched up that well.)
On Friday night, Kyle and I went to USI's Spring Fest and rode some of the free carnival rides. We camped out in his furniture-less apartment that night, watching How to Train Your Dragon. Saturday afternoon was full of moving and bridal shower activities, but that night we took Kobe on a walk around campus. During our walk we met up with my best friend from back home, Erin, who was waiting outside for the Jason DeRulo concert. Getting to see her made me so happy!
Besties :)

One of my friends here at USI has a Facebook album called "The Creeper Files." (This sounds random, but I swear it's not.) She snaps pictures of people at various locations on campus, very undercover-like, and then tags them on Facebook with funny little captions. I think it's so funny and I was JUST wondering last week if I would ever be lucky enough to make it into the Creeper Files. Well guess what, folks- I made it!
Ambrosia's caption:
I was in line for 2 hours waiting for the doors to open at Jason Derulo's concert so I determined it was an appropriate time to creep on you. O.o
There we are! Chelsea, her friend Bailey, Erin (hiding behind Bailey), me, and Kyle, who is holding Kobe. I made the Creeper Files at last.
On Sunday we woke up early and took Kobe down to the river, where we walked for over an hour. It was great exercise in beautiful weather, despite being super windy. We then went to brunch at the Loft on campus, where I ran into Erin again- surprise! The rest of the afternoon was taken up by job hunting, napping, and exploring Kyle's new apartment complex.
This week has been pretty great, although not nearly as exciting as my weekend. I've been keeping busy with class, work, tutoring at the middle school, group meetings, and workouts at the gym. I even found time to finish the novel I started last week AND I started crocheting again!
I started this blanket for my sister Amber... last spring. It was originally supposed to be her 18th birthday present. Considering the fact that her 19th birthday was last week, I'd say I'm a little behind schedule. But I am determined to finish it sometime this summer!
Speaking of summer... After this week, we only have two weeks of class left. And then finals week. And then I will be on summer break! Where did these past two semesters go? It seems like just yesterday I was getting settled into the apartment for the first time. Of the three weekends that remain in this semester, two of them will be spent at home (this weekend for Kelly and Amber's birthday parties; next weekend for Easter). The final one will be spent here at Evansville, and Kyle should be here that weekend. So I'd say I've got lots to look forward to over the next few weeks. :)
