Twinkle, twinkle...

This past Thursday I got a phone call from Ben, an intern pastor at Westwood Church who I met at the luncheon last week. He wanted to talk to me about their small groups because I had put on my contact card that this was something I was interested in learning more about. We had a great conversation about the different groups and Bible studies going on in the Westwood community, including one that his wife Stephanie holds every Thursday evening.

After we got off the phone, I called my mom to tell her about our conversation and how positive I was feeling about this church. From the moment I first set foot inside Westwood one week ago, I have experienced nothing but kindness and inclusion from everyone I've talked to. Ben calling to check in on me and get me up-to-date on their small group schedule only cemented that feeling of acceptance.

Before service started this morning, I was looking through the little newsletter that they hand out when you enter the sanctuary. It was full of community news and prayer requests and an outline of today's sermon and... a list of some of the pastors and staff members at Westwood. When I came across this last feature, I noticed that Ben and Stephanie have the same last name as my youth pastors from back home, Chad and Teresa. Hmm.

At first, I chalked it up to coincidence. Theirs is a pretty common last name, and Evansville is a whole 3 hours away from Columbus. But after asking around a little but, I discovered that Ben and Chad are cousins. The pastor at the church I go to back home is Ben's uncle. Woah!

Cue Disney music: "It's a small world after all..."

How insanely ironic/awesome/God-like is that?! I called my mom as soon as service was over and she said maybe that's a sign that this is the church God wants me to be at. I would have to agree with her.

God is amazing.

After church, I had to return a movie to RedBox (The Social Network- GREAT movie!) and got my car checked out at AutoZone. The dang engine light is on again, but according to Mr. AutoZone, it's nothing I need to worry about right now. *crosses fingers*

After running those errands, Amber and I had lunch at CiCi's, where I ate entirely too much. We then came back to the apartment, where I changed into comfier clothes and made my bed and packed my backpack to head over to the library.

That was at 1:00pm. It is now nearing 7:30pm and I am still here. Six and a half straight hours at the library. My back hurts. My neck hurts. My butt hurts. But I still have so much studying left... Two exams and a quiz tomorrow. Gah! What a way to start off the week.

One of the very few people with the ability to boost my spirits after 6.5 hours of studying would have to be my baby sister, Madison Elizabeth. An hour or so ago, Amber sent me this video of Madders "singing" her one-year-old version of Twinkle, Twinkle. Enjoy :)
