It doesn't take long for a class to get acclimated to a certain seating arragement. From my experience, students generally pick a seat on the first day of class and that seat doesn't really change throughout the semester.
That's just the way I like it.
So what happened when I walked into Abnormal Psychology during the third week of classes and my "sweet seat" was occupied by someone else?
Well, I didn't like it. Not one bit.
Of course, I knew that it would be tactful and immature to say something to this person.
"Um, excuse me? Yeah, hi. You're in my seat."
"And since when do we have assigned seats in college...?"
Yeah. I knew better than to make a fool of myself by asking this strange girl to back away from my seat. But having to sit on the opposite side of the classroom completely threw off my dynamic for the next 50 minutes. I had trouble focusing. My handwriting was horrible. My mind kept wandering. My notes sucked. I hated it.
I guess this is just further proof that I am a person who is not too accustomed to change. When thrust into new situations, I make it a point to find my comfort zone early on and stick with it. Even if it is something as silly as where to sit in a classroom.
Am I the only one who takes seating arrangements this seriously? Is this fairly normal, or am I just too controlling and compulsive for my own good?
In other news... I had a pretty fantastic weekend. It was nothing special, but the relaxation and break from classes were great.
Friday: Right after classes Amy, Kari, and I brought our mattresses out in the living room, got comfy, and watched A Walk to Remember. Quite a few tears were shed. Once the movie was over, Amy and I went to the mall with Kat, Jesse, Christian, and Zech.
Saturday: I slept in until 10:30 or so before getting in the shower and getting ready for the day. We spent all afternoon at the girls' and guys' basketball games, and then came home for another chick flick: Titanic!

Kari and I having fun with icicles before heading to the games :)
Despite having most of my homework done at a decent hour, I still managed to stay up way too late. What can I say? Those roommates/friends are just too dang fun. I can't bring myself to sleep when they're all hanging out and having fun in the living room.
Needless to say, I was exhausted when I had to drag my sleepy butt out of bed for an 8 a.m. class. This baby right here is what got me through my morning:

13 raspberries. 11 strawberries. 3 cranberries. 1 1/2 apples. 1/4 pomegranate. 1/3 orange. 1/2 banana. 7 red grapes. Lots of vitamins and fiber and flax seed. And it's delicious, too. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Naked juice?
Well, my one-hour shift in the Language Lab is quickly coming to a close... which means I need to be wrapping this up and heading back to my (computer-less) apartment. Praying that you all have a safe, happy, fun, healthy, and productive week!
