Since I've started blogging again, I've struggled with the layout/background of this blog. If you check in on me regularly you may have noticed that the design was changing every other day or so for the past week. I finally sat down at my computer this afternoon, bound and determined to come up with a look that I love and that will actually stick around for awhile.
Ladies and gentlemen... I think we have a winner.
I made the heading myself, using Picasa. That has always been one of my favorite photo editing programs- it's so simple and easy to figure out. I struggled with deciding which pictures to use but ultimately chose some nature shots I took on campus last semester.
It's nothing special- I'm most definitely NOT a web designer at heart- but I'm very pleased with the way my blog looks now. What do you think? :)

I woke up
"Today WILL be productive!" That's what I was thinking.
Upon getting out of bed, however, I decided that a nice wake-up shower would be the perfect precursor to a day filled with studying.
Walk in the bathroom, open up the shower curtain, think of the many relaxing bubble baths I took last week.
Screw the shower. Bring on the bubble bath.
I relaxed in the tub listening to the greatest Pandora station ever created {Boyce Avenue radio, anyone?} and playing Fruit Ninja for about an hour before I decided I should probably get out and do something with my day.
After drying off, getting dressed, brushing my teeth, washing my face, and blow drying and straightening my hair, I was finally ready to sit down at my desk and start working.
But then I saw the disastrous mess that was my bedroom. Okay, it really wasn't that bad, but my bed wasn't made and there were hoodies that needed folded and put up in my closet and don't forget the fact that my purse hadn't been cleaned out in over a week.
A good 45 minutes later, I was winding down from an impromptu apartment-cleaning spree. I filled up my favorite tumbler with ice water and sat down to start revising my final essay for Brit Lit.
At last! I'm ready to be productive and get stuff do-
"Hey Megan, there's potato soup in the kitchen if you want some."
My wonderful roommate Amber, bless her soul, had made one of my favorite meals. And everyone knows you can't do homework on an empty stomach.
I brought that yummy, steaming bowl of potato soup back to my desk, planning on browsing Twitter or Pinterest while I ate. But one thing led to another and the next thing you know, I was designing that cute little header for my blog. You know how it goes.
Long story short: I am the world's biggest procrastinator. When I really get down to it, I'm a fabulous student. I make good grades and I work really hard when it comes to assignments and essays and exams. I just have a little issue with prioritizing and time management, which tends to affect my level of productivity.

I took some time last night to organize my life, which right now consists of finishing up this semester. Although my task list is extremely daunting at the moment, the fact that I can fit it all on a desktop sticky note makes me one happy girl.
2 days of class + 1 dead day + 5 days of finals... Then I'm free!

Love the blog layout and header!! I was thinking of doing a Christmas theme blog layout, but soon realized I am content with my layout and design as it is right now. If I find any I might add a few tiny decorations on my blog. I love your computer wallpaper too, I love how you can put little "sticky notes" on it. God is preparing me for Job Corps that I will be going to in about 3 or 4 months. Everything comes to those who wait for His perfect timing! <3
Cute blog! I like your content. Clear and simple! I like how your About Me is at the top of your side bar so it makes it easy for people to figure out who they're reading about. I love the font of your post titles!
