I despise the cold, but freezing weather and a chilly apartment (our heater's kind of a flake) do have their perks. In light of my insistence on finding the silver lining to every situation, I present to you my {somewhat sparse} list of reasons why cold weather can actually be something to look forward to.
- Scarves! I brought all of my winter scarves back to Evansville after Thanksgiving break and I've had lots of fun this past week mixing and matching them with my outfits. As soon as finals are over I plan on buying some yarn and crocheting more to give as Christmas gifts.
- Snuggies! I don't care what anyone says, how unstylish they are, or how ridiculous they look- I adore my Snuggie. I'm so happy to finally have an excuse to wear it around the apartment instead of just covering up with it at night.
- Cuddling! I'm big on cuddling, and what better excuse to snuggle up to someone than chilly temperatures? Even if that "someone" is usually my roommate or my pillow... Single girl problems. Sigh.
- Hot drinks! Hot chocolate, caramel apple spice, vanilla lattes... yum, right? My mom made me the most delicious hot drink when I was home for break. She heated milk, vanilla coffee creamer, and cinnamon on the stove and it tastes just like a Snickerdoodle cookie. I have yet to try and duplicate her recipe, but it's on my to-do list.
- Fuzzy socks! It's ridiculous how many pairs of soft, fuzzy slipper-socks I own. For most of the year they're just annoying because it's too warm to wear them and they take up a lot of space in my drawers. This morning, though, I busted out the sock collection to heat up my tootsies and I'm very happy that I did.
