Today and every day...

This past Sunday, I traveled to Illinois to witness the marriage of the most loyal, mature, loving, responsible, godly, perfect-for-each-other couple I know.

After a lifetime of friendship, nearly five years of dating, and just under a year of engagement, Hannah and Ryan are now officially husband and wife. And I couldn't be happier for them.

I got to Evansville really late last Friday (it was after midnight). I spent the weekend at Kyle's hanging out with him, his roommate, and his two dogs. On Sunday afternoon we met up with two of my roommates, Amber and Amy, and together we drove to Effingham for the wedding.

Now, I don't know if it was because these were two of my best friends getting married, or if I was just feeling especially emotional that day, but I must say theirs was the most beautiful wedding ceremony I've ever been to. And I bawled like a baby through the entire thing.

The reception that followed the ceremony was just as beautiful.

We ate a delicious dinner (lasagna!) and then it was time for the newlyweds to cut the cake.

Although I had regained my composure by this point, the tears just about started flowing again when Hannah and Ryan took the floor for their first dance as husband and wife to the song "Marry Me" by Train.

I thank God every day for the amazing friends He has placed in my life, and Hannah and Ryan are always included in those prayers. I am so anxious to see what the future holds for these newlyweds because I know God has lots of exciting adventures in store for them. Even if these plans involve them living far away (they're moving into their new house in St. Louis once they're done honeymooning in Cancun), which I don't necessarily love, I know God has this beautiful couple right where He needs them. And that's all that matters.
